configuring virtual host in Linux RH 7

I have configured the httpd to run ip based virtual host. How do I do a “ifconfig” setting for the 2nd or sub sequent address(s). In Sun solaris you do a eth0:1 etc…. but I cannnot seem to find much help for linux on this. Is there other settings I need to look at to get this working.
