Connection to Network lost in SBS2003

by kitty81 . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

I am having a problem with my SBS2003. Since last week all clients on the network have been losing part of their connection with the network.

When I say they are losing part of their connection I mean that they may still be able to view cached websites or to receive their emails or to access the mapped network drives, so they are still connected as such.

Renewing their IP address seems to solve the problem for a few hours, but they are having to do this twice a day (first thing in the morning and around lunchtim).

I have had a look on the server and have seen many errors and warnings, all of which I have apparentely fixed as they are no longer appearing. These were as follows:

Type: Warning
Source: TermServLicensing
Event ID: 18

Type: Warning
Source: DHCP Server

These errors haven’t appeared for a few days now. Yesterday there were the following errors:

Errors and warnings on client computers after renewing IP address:

Other random errors and warnings appearing on client computers since the servers errors stopped:

I have run DCdiag.exe and the only error I got was with the ismserv, which was stopped. I have run nltest.exe, which came back as being completed successfully. I have flushed and registered the dns on some of the clients. I have reinstalled the DNS server.

Please can someone help me as I don’t know what to try next.

Many thanks
