Any idea ? Im asked by my proffesor to analyse the cost of a bank?s IT department.
In scope for cost analysis and benchmark is the INVESTMENT FUNCTION APPLICATIONS only. The IT department is responsile for overall 1. Application Maintainance, 2. Application Operations and Infrastucture Operations (not in scope).
I am only provided with few information on the bank?s IT department without no knowledge of what should be the best practice.
How will you guys go about this in reality ? What will be your best practice to benchmark ? What are the factors you will be considering, given the fact that you have only 30 mins to convince your audience of the result from your assignment?
Please let me know what you will categorise, what you will compare and analyse. How you will find a best practice as a standard etc.
Available info: Functional Overview,cebtral security functions detailed, Investment function overview,Investment Functions Application overview, the bank group operating figures and budget structure.
This is an abstract scenario, requiring me to think. Any suggestions ?
