Count / kill-off Access processes

I?m getting an issue where Access is closed but still appears in the Windows Task Manager?s process list.

Does anyone know how to ensure the process is killed off? Or how to do it from code?

Alternatively, I?d be interested in a way of checking how many Access processes are open, so that I can tell the user they cant have more than x number open at one time.
