Data Domain Appliances

Presently I use LTO3 tapes and I am burning through about 16 per week. These tapes cost roughly 65 USD/each and you can easily see how fast this adds up when I keep these tapes offsite for months at a time.

Therefore I have been exploring deduplication technologies and have received many referrals to Data Domain products.

Does anyone presently use any of the Data Domain solutions for data deduplication?

How does Data Domain handle DR without using the replication to another DD unit. Can the DD unit be dumped onto tape after deduplication?

Any recommendations other than Data Domain to shrink tape usage?
