Dial-up connection and finding a host

by massoud . Updated 25 years, 5 months ago

I have 2 domains, A and B. There is a Ras server which is a Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5) member server equiped with multiport and several modems in domain A. When I connect from a computer called PC1 (Windows 98) in domain B to the Ras server in domain A, I can not ALWAYS find the server in domain A, using Start Menu-Find-Computer. But I can ping that server with IP and also it’s name!!!

When I use Find computer, nothing goes on the telephone line (the 2 monitors near the clock on the task bar does not blink at all).

I’ve changed the client pc, I’ve added the name of Domain A to the Computer Browser service in domain B PDC, I’ve disabled Master Browsing service in Win98 (client pc) but still the problem persists.

And please notice that sometimes it works well and sometimes not.

Thank you.
