Direct Cable Connection (Win 98 Guest, Win XP Host)

Hi Guys,

I need help. Trying to do a direct cable connection (LPT1 to LPT1) between my laptop (Win XP Pro) and my PC (Win 98SE). My laptop has all the stuff I need to put on my PC. Can’t upgrade the PC, hence the problem as I need to get virus checkers etc via the laptop to sort out the PC then I can upgrade. PC just about took Win 98SE after being wiped out, can’t connect to internet etc so need to download files to laptop and transfer from there. I already have the cable connected, but can’t make it go! Anyone know the answer?
