Ok, I just got a new HP laptop, which came with Vista Home Premium. It has 2 hard drives built in, and so I decided to install XP Media Center on the 2nd hard drive. It is another physical drive, not a logical one. I installed XP on the other drive, and it runs just fine, except now I can’t boot into Vista anymore. I went into the startup options in XP, and only XP is listed in the pull-down menu, so I can’t select Vista. I even tried pulling the 2nd hard drive, and starting up, but then it doesn’t even think anything is there at all, it doesn’t load vista. I’ve tried playing with editing the boot.ini file to help it recognize the other operating system, but wuth no luck… I’m probably not doing it right anyway. Anyone come up against the same thing, or have a solution for me? I would like to be able to use Vista still, but also XP. Please help!
