Dynamic forms fields in word linked to excel spreadsheets cells

I just had read the excellent article on “Create dynamic forms using Microsoft’s word table features”

There is an extra-level I wish to reach, but not sure how to achieve it:

I want to link a dynamic form in word to an specific cells on an excel spreadsheet, either using fixed cell reference or lookup & database formulas.

Any help will be highly appreciated.
