End-user problem – TCP/IP + user privileges

by mr.sweetchuck . Updated 19 years ago

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me.

One of my users works out of the office a lot and has asked me to set up his (XP) laptop so that he can use his home broadband connection, (for email etc.) He currently does not has sufficient user privileges to change them himself.

I attempted to set up a “Broadband” Connection secondary to the LAN connection. This didn’t work. Is it possible to set up a second LAN connection for the broadband settings? The ISP’ settings are static and clash with our domain settings.

Alternatively is there a way to modify the local privileges for his account on the laptop so that he can change his TCP/IP settings as required.

Thanks,
chuck.
