Excel 2003

I have a user who has an Excel file, and the actual file opens. This user has Recent Documents enabled on her computer. When she clicks on the Recent Documents link for the same file, nothing comes up.

Scandisk was done and it appears it fixed some things but the behavior I mentioned above still remains. The computer is running WinXP Pro SP2.

The computers here are connected in a peer to peer network, and when I access the same file, it opens properly.

Any ideas on why it is happening?
