Exchange/outlook problem

Connecting workstation to network,
Loggin in,
Open outlook.

Public folders come up fine and are updated.
Private folders such as inbox.. No sync.
Can sent out email just fine but cannot see new inbound stuff.
Log in OWA and everything is fine there just not on the workstations.. any clues?
