My exchange server crashed yesterday. And I installed a new copy of
win2000srv on the same server and the same partition, and installed ms
exchange server 2000.
I then restarted and booted another copy of win2000srv
(I have a total of 3 on thesame server, dont ask 🙂
I then copied the entire c:\programfiles\exchsrvr from the version that
crashed into the new installation of exchange server. (overwrite).
I then reboot the new copy of exchange and in the systemmangager
under the server, first storage group and under there
we have the mailbox store and the public store. Under mailbox store and
public store i selct properties and click
for “this database can be overwritten by a restore”. Then every thing seems
to be working. I create identical users ( how important is this)and
connect to the exchange server, but i can only get my new mail where is the
old? My priv1.edb file was over 800mb (The new one is also over 800mb)
How can I get this back??
Our mail should still be in there right?
