Being a mother with 2 daughters, I have always tried to make sure they understand that they don’t have to be like all the girls they see on TV and advertisements. Just to be themselves and lead healthy lifestyles is best.
This story caught my eye:

Ok, I understand that seeing alot of the same things over and over on TV, movies, billboards, and even games, can direct perspectives a certain way. But where do you draw the line?
What message is really being sent in the attempt to remove a fat character from a game? Would keeping the character really direct people to hate fat people?
In this day and age isn’t it wise to teach our children not to read too much into what they see on TV, movies and games? And if we jump on a company for their character designs, aren’t we reading too much into it?
