Filling Outlook Calendar from Access Database

I am developing a contact database in Access for a customer who wants the databse to put items such as “contact by” or “follow up call” into his Outlook calendar. I have little experience with either Access or Outlook, but I have enough SQL experience to make the tables work. HOw do I “link” this access DB with Outlook?
