generic host error

by byteside . Updated 20 years, 6 months ago

I installed an ATI Radeon 9250 video card for dual monitor support. All went well, both monitors work but I am getting a generic host process for win32 service error message at boot up. I looked in error log and under application error, Catagory is 100 Event is 1000 source is service controll manager. I have looked on ATI’s website and google many different ways to word the problem and I am not finding an answer. I believe I read in the txt file placed in temp\wer12.tmp.dir00\svchost.exe.appcompat.txt the mention of advapi32.dll but most of that txt file was greek to me. I am running windows xp pro without service pack 2 due to a conflict with a certain program on my pc. Any help with this problem would be great.
