Generic Host Process error?

by wanderer11387 . Updated 15 years, 5 months ago

Recently, I’ve been getting an error message on my computer with the usual Generic Host process for Win32 services has enountered a problem and needs to close”. I noticed people are similarly getting these errors but mine is a little different in the message. the error signature reads:

szAppName: svchost.exe szAppVer:5.1.2600.2180 szModName: Uknown
szModVer: 0.0.0.0 offset: 0001a624b

I tried performing some of the recommendations people have put in the discussions but when i go to the MS site I get an error message when i try to update saying to enable userdata persistence. the problem is that it is already enabled, and i have retried enabling it but it still will not work. Once the error message pops up i no longer can use my speakers, volume is out of the question, and i recently tried installing a printer driver but that would not work either. Hopefully someone can point me at least in the right direction of what i need to do.
