gerneric host error

I am having a problem finding information on this error. Boot computer and get this error: Generic Host process for win32 service has encounterd a problem and needs to close. If I click on details button I get App name Svchost.exe, App version 5.1.2600.0, Module name msvcrt.dll, Module version 7.0.2600.1106, Offset 00033eco. I am assuming there is a problem with the dll starting but after a few trys it will boot up with no error. Any sugestions would be great. Thanks
