getting svchost.exe error when desktops comes after start the computer

I am getting svchost.exe application error memory could not be read at 000xx somthing like this when desktops comes after start the computer.it ask for ok and cancel when i do any thing computer hangs again i restart the computer.is it memory problem or somthing else.plz suggest.
