I have 2 IBM Lenovo 500 laptops fresh out the box with Vista home. I Changed the image to Windows XP with disks from IBM. Used Windows PE to create a ghost image to an external usb hard drive(My Book). Now I can’t get internet connection. From the broken lapotop I can ping the gateway and other pc’s in the network but if I ping www.yahoo.com it is not happening.
From my laptop I can ping the ip address but not the host name of the laptop. I have tried everything and for some reason I can’t get to the internet. I have diagnose the laptop and port everything pass. I took the laptop to a location still nothing. The laptop is sending packages but only receive half back, if that. I mean I have tried everything that I know how to do. I updated the drivers, but already had the lastest drivers. The nic is a Broadcom NetLink Fast Ethernet. I called Symantec to see if ghost could have caused an error ~nope. I called Lenovo they didn’t have answers for me. I am so frustrated.
