Ghost will not recognize spanned DVD images

I have created bootable DVDs using Roxio Creator Classic and I have to span the image to two disks. I boot into the target PC and start the clone process and the first DVD runs up to about 75% and then says the image is corrupt or there is an decompression error. I have made quite a few image DVDs on different PCs and still get the same error. Bummer! Does anyone have any idea what may be going on?
