Ghosting Win2000 and stop errors

Hello,
I have ghosted the contents of my laptops Win2000 hard drive which runs fine and now when I test the image by reapplying the ghost file I keep getting stop errors shortly after the laptop boots to Win 2000. I have never had this problem with any other operating system. Is there something different that has to be done when ghosting Win 2000. Thanks.
