ghosting win2k to mutiple platforms

I am trying to clone W2k professional to multiple platforms ie. IBM300PL 500Mhz, Intel PII based and a Intel AP440FX Ppro based. I have managed to overcome probs with ACPI bios by changing the HAL.DLL to suit the platform. The only problem is with the Ppro AP440fx, when booting it fails with Stop error 7B (loss of communication with system partition). The original clone is from the IBM300PL but the error shows on the IBM if the clone is from the PentiumPro sytem. I suspect its is a problem withthe IDE drivers loaded at boot. Any one with any ideas or details of files and drivers loaded during boot process.
