Gnome creash – lost eth0

Redhat 7.2, 3c905B network card.

Network was working fine – then Gnome locked up – had to hard reset. Since then no network. neat shows the device etc – all IP’s there – but ifconfig just shows lo – ifconfig eth0 up – starts the card – but no IP –

What do I look for next?
