Grammar

by ashton . Updated 17 years, 4 months ago

I think most of those who post on this site have been exposed to the English Language since most of the posts use it. However, I am appalled at the number of violations of proper usage and even worse, most appear think that gross misuse is a badge of importance. Why? Why be proud of using “your” for “you are”?? Another is “there” when it should “their”. Most people learn those simple words, and the proper use, very early in life. So why are these “educated professional”, as they claim to be, using such a very poor selection of words to express an opinion? And when confronted explain proudly “I don’t use spell checker or grammar checker”? Well , to even appear professional, the grammar needs a lot of help.
Yes I do know, the messge still gets across. However, as one has seen, the human mind can read a very poorly constructed sentence but should that be required when reading from “professionals”?
A.
