Graphics in Word

I have a workstation that uses Office ’97 which is loaded locally on the machine. The user has developed a couple of documents that have graphics inserted at the top of the page. These graphics have always shown up and printed without any problem. Last week however, the graphics quit printing out on the page nor do they show up in Print Preview. I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps including making sure that “Drawings” is turned on and “Picture placeholders” is turned off in Tools\options. We are looking at the file in page layout view. I have tried reinstalling Word but still cannot get the graphics to show up. Ideas??
