I use three computers in my daily routine, a desktop at home, one at the church office and my laptop. I set up a shared workspace on Groove 2007 in the hopes of syncronizing my Outlook .pst files folders between the three computers. All seemed to go ok but later found that .pst files are blocked and excluded and I can’t find any way to allow them.
Is there a work around for this anywhere? I really needs to keep these in sync since I use then daily on all three computers? Groove works fine for keeping my Office Documents and OneNote files in synce but I can’t get it to work on .pst files.
I can open Preferences under the Option menu, click on the security tab and uncheck the box “Block Restricted File Types” but it does not allow me prevent a particular file type from being blocked. It’s all or nothing.
However, while the .pst files are no longer blocked by doing this (and neither are any others)the .pst files are still
showing up in the “File and extensions being excluded section” when viewing my
workspace properties. It seems that this is one of the few extensions listed in two seperate areas (extensions being blocked nad extensions being excluded).
Apparently I need to remove it at both locations and I can’t see how to do this.
I realize that certain file types are blocked and/or excluded for security reasons but since I am the only one using the workspace on the three computers I should have the option to deside if I want to allow a certain file type for a particular workspace.
Also, ideally I would rather not have to unblock all files extensions if I don’t have to and only the types I specifically wamt to allow.
I am on a simple peer-to-peer network (no server). All computers are running XP Media Center and am using Groove File Share Workspaces.
Hopefully someone has a work around.
