HELP! I lost all my email in outlook!

After I reinstalled windows, I am unable to open up any Office program. It says Microsoft Outlook has not been installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application. But when I try to reinstall any office product with my office xp cd, it says the Patch Package could not be opened. What is the Outlook file used to store my e-mails?
