Home made gMeter?

Hi all!

I am trying to create something like a gMeter using a standard ADXL330 (tri-axial accelerometer).

My questions are:
Is it possible or am i just wasting my time?
If so, does any one have any suggestions for the code? (Preferably C)

I’m using a PIC to process all the data.
