Home web hosting

I own a domain name through one of the many companies offering to host websites. I have http requests forwarded to my home web server (which has dedicated IP addy).

How do I “cut out the middle man” and have this domain name linked directly withmy home web server’s IP addy?

Any links where I could learn more about this stuff would be greatly appreciated.
