Host and domain name for router

Hello. I have a net gear router that I got to let 2 computers in my home share an internet connection. The cable company that is my provider doesn’t want to give me my “host and domain name” that the router asks for. I thought there was a way to find it by either ping or tracert but I can’t remember for sure and what I’ve tried on my own is no good. Can someone please help get me connected??
