Host file doesn’t work.

We are hosting our own website on an NT server. I’ve set up a “Host” file to forward workstations directly to the internal IP address of the site whenever they type in the url. Some workstations work correctly and others don’t. The workstations that don’t work right still try to go through our proxy server out to the internet and then never resolve the url. Any ideas what might be missing?
