Right now my company is hosting its mail from superbnet (bleh! bosses choice not mine) and I think I have them convinced to give me time to move everything over to our internal server (SBS2003). Before I take time off other projects for this I need to make sure I have all my ducks in a row so heres my setup, hopefully you guys will be able to point out additional steps I need to take or correct me where I’m wrong…
>>Running SBS2003 standard
>>Using pop connectors to get mail from superbnet
>>mail domain is also hosted at superbnet
>>in house server hosts a different domain (for employee access)
So I’m thinking all I need to do is put an MX/A record up at superbnet with a single priority (as I only have 1 server) and use the domain attached to the sbs server as the forwarding entry. I would then just remove all the pop connectors and rerun the mail setup wizard to reflect the in house mail handling.
I already have all the users doing local archiving so if we lose emails its not a huge deal but I dont think we will anyway.
