Well 1st off here is the setup. I am a young black guy (24) working for a small startup company. Today a co-worker of mine (60+yo, WM) had a bad mood swing today. I have never had any issues with hum before, but today he got really up set, and specifically told me to “Shut to F* Up” while he was on the phone (because I was laughing a little loud), and further stated that “this is the last time that he is going to tell me”, but he has never said anything to me like that before….I want to know what?s peoples opinions are to this as far as this being ok, or not acceptable. A friend of mine told me, who is also a WM (not trying to make it racial) 🙂 that I am too sensitive….but my thing is that still does not make it ok for him to talk to me like that. Several other people at my job tried to make excuse for the guy. Also I worked in a secure environment were everyone HAS to have security clearance to even work at the company, and also I work behind 2-3 access controlled doors, so any threats like that or hostility is not taken lightly. Comments please…
