Hosting a intranet on a small wide area network

Hi all,

I am planning to host an intranet for the company I work for. We just purchased a Linux web server and not sure if its the best idea. The reason being is that there are 8 offices that make up this network of ours. Each office has its own internet line (unique IP) and 7 of them are located in the same city. I know there needs to be somekind of connectivity between them. Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can get intranet on this network? Any suggestions will help. Thank you in advance
