I have a unique home network connection and would like to host a personal website on a home computer. My rural broadband connection is wireless. The ISP hops several towers on private IP space before getting to the backbone.
Home network 192.168.3.xxx issued by DHCP from my Win2003 server or can be statically assigned. Bridged to my router on the antenna, router IP 192.168.3.254. That relays to a tower 10.0.1.254 which relays to another tower which has valid internet-routable IP. So no valid routable IP is assigned to my router.
I have connected to my work VPN which assigns a valid Internet routable IP to my computer. I assign that IP to my web server and the website is accessible to the world.
I am looking for a hosting service that could provide me with a static real-world accessible IP and route that IP to my home PC, allowing me to tunnel through the multiple layers of NAT from my ISP.
Does anyone know of a service that could do that? Or any other suggestions of how this could be accomplished? I do not have access to my wireless router and it would do no good anyway since it also has a private IP.
