Hosting websites/e-mail?

Everyone,

So here’s a question…

I currently have a local domain (00 server) with 50 users, lets call it abc.local. Our website and e-mail is currently hosted by our local carrier who provides our t-1. I’m about to upgrade to 03 server with03 exchange as well. I want to begin hosting out website and e-mail, I’ll refer to the domain as abc.com.

**Can I keep my current abc.local domain and config exchange (on the abc.local domain to host e-mail accounts for abc.com as well as hostmy website abc.com?

Or should I change my domain from abc.local to abc.com, thus redoing AD/recreating user accounts? (Lot of work!!!)
