How to change chipstes to run dvd-rom?

by radiodj . Updated 25 years, 6 months ago

When installing my dvd-rom software i received the fowlling message:
Your Motherboard is using an Ali,Sis, or VIA series of chipset. We strongly recomend you to install the IDE or busmaster driver that comes with your moterboard and enable DMA modefor accsssing your DVD-Rom.

I changed to DMA mode but still can’t access DVD’s . Other dics will run fine. When I put in a DVD i get a message saying the region code is incorrect, I have input the correcdt region (1) everytime i’ve reinstalled the software. What am I doing Wrong?
