HP 1100 + Vista

Vista (on a norebook) has loaded the driver for the HP 1100 (by USB cable) all right, and was working fine. In the process of printing a job from Adobe Indesign, the printer suddenly began spewing out pages with

@PJL NTR LNPL

spread across each and every page, ad nauseam.

Have deleted printer jobs, deleted printer and driver and reloaded, but with the same result.

Another printer is working from the same computer all right.

Do you have any ideas I could try, please?
