Actually, I haven’t done this yet…
I bought a Win XP Pro SP2 package from a suggested vendor, waited a week for overnight shipping (UPS sent it the wrong way over the weekend), then had internal receiver deliver to wrong office, where they said “Huh…” and set it aside. Once I figured out who the receiver was (UPS tracking said it was signed for by “Ann Ball”, of which we have neither) and found out what she did with it, it got to my desk yesterday afternoon about ten minutes before Beer:30, and I decided it would be a bad idea to start installing at that point…
So, this morning, after the usual flurry of crises, I got to the install, opened the box (not easy, it was glued shut with UPS Industrial Strength Stickum), got out the package, inspected the license sticker and was struck by the notice “You are requested to affix this Certificate of Authenticity to the essence of the PC”.
WTF? I thought it might be a Good Idea to actually RTFM, and “affixed” to the top of the booklet was a label reading “LIcensed for distribution only specific countries within Middle East and Africa”.
Double WTF?
What do you think I should do with this? Go ahead and install? Send it back? Something else?
