Is it me, or has there been a resurgence in telemarketing calls lately?

OK, so I’m a Verizon customer and hold 3 different credit cards, but that doesn’t mean I need to be telemarketed about products I already own or subscribe to. It’s bad enough some moron calls me when I’m having dinner to spew his/her sales pitch of a product I could care less about, but from my local phone, cable, or credit card companies? Come on, I’m already lining their pockets by paying their exhuberant fees, so what more do they want from me? My phone number is already on the Do Not Call registry and it annoys the hell out of me that companies I’m already a customer of can bypass the list. Sure, I use your services and such, but don’t annoy me either because a sales call is a sales call, even if I’m already a customer. I think that if they want to sell me something, send it by mail or email me the info, but don’t disturb me when I’m exhausted after a long day of work and trying to enjoy my dinner and watch a bit of TV. I hope the FTC will slap these morons with a hefty fine because I did file a complaint against them, whether or not they think they have the right to telemarket me.
