IT, lack of Professionalism?

With the infiltration of non-IT professionals in the industry..especially at the “hiring” level, thus making mockery of highly skilled and qualified candidates, what’s the way forward? (By the way, passing several cetification exams don’t make you a professional! You need be “academic” background to complement.)
