Two sitings of the rare (endangered?) Jaqui were reported this morning.

A Canadian species once common in these parts, the Jaqui has been spotted only rarely since late winter and was feared extinct. Speculation now centers on theories of the species adopting new migratory patterns due to global warming. With the return of the autumnal season, perhaps the sweet song of this species will be heard again.
