Keyboard Issues

I have a Windows XP desktop with no functionality on either PS/2 or USB keyboards. I have installed the latest drivers, uninstalled and re-installed the keyboards. The PS/2 will interupt the boot, but will not type commands in a dos prompt. The keyboards show as ‘working properly’ in the device manager. Possibly a registry issue…any thoughts/advice please?
