Hi All
we have a number of labs, PC’s & users all controlled via Active Directory.
We’re running a render farm application which runs up a process(es) on PC’s whilst they’re not in use / logged into. When users login to a PC these processes are remaining active, something we don’t want.
I wrote a login script to find these processes and close them down – however because the script uses the login user’s credentials & the process to be closed / killed is owned by another user, the killing of the process fails.
Can anyone offer any advice on how to get the script to kill the processes?
Can a login script be told to run as admin in AD?
We don’t want to give the users permissions to kill or access other users processes, except for in this one login case!?!?
I know that ‘runas’ might have done the tick, but it needs a manual password entry & the users don’t know the password.
I’ve seen refernce to ‘sanur’ & ‘tqcrunas’ tools, but are these really the only to do this?
An AD solution would be the best way to go! But can it be done!??!
Thanks in advance for any help / suggestions.
Pete
