Lost in Router Land

by boxco49 . Updated 22 years, 5 months ago

I purchased a used router (first mistake), for my small business. My house is wired with cat/5e, for my office, and home computer. I am trying to establish a link to the router with my home computer, and can ping it, but can?t access the router wizard with my browser. I have tried using the manufacturers free e-mail support, and know now why it?s free. With no IT experience, I am lost. The router was based on the pretext, it was easy to install. I can?t afford to continue playing with it, and spend more money to get it working. It is a Netgear RO318 router, with a firewall. If my home computer will not work, I hate messing up my business computer by trying that one. My home PC is Windows ME, and my business PC is Windows XP Profissional. I have no clue what to do, or where to begin?
