Lost Password

I inheirited an old Dell Latitude laptop with Windows 2000 Professional as it’s OS, but it came with no password.I don’t know if there is a default password I can use to reset it.Additionally, I have tried to use Crack Commander and another offline password and registry editor, but to no avail. I believe there may be something wrong with the CD drive. I know this is a dinosaur with a Pentium II processor, but there are some kids I would like to give it to, in order to keep them occupied & as a keepsake.So as you can see I don’t want to put any money into this. My idea was if they can take care of this one without abuse, I’ll get them one worthwhile. Anybodys help would be deeply appreciated,so I can get into this thing.Thanks.
