lost securesoft password

a person stupidly downloaded a security software that he says is called securesoft but it doesnt say what its called in the locked program window…
heres the problem:
a program desighned to keep people out of a file if they dont know the password… the password has been forgotten… the owner of the computer is sure that it cant be recovered because the program alegedly told him that it couldnt be accesed only removed…
what he wants me to do: find the password…
removing the file is out of the question… he told me dont even risk it… how would i recover the password or alternitivly get the stuff out of the file wothout the password…
