Lost Server Connections

I am running a Win2000 Server (no DHCP) with both Win2000 and WinXp workstations. After a matter of some time, usually over night, most of my workstateion loose their connection to the server. Connection can rarely be reestablished without rebooting the workstation. What’s going on and is there a fix?
