Lost wireless connection after virus attack

I encountered a virus attack and downloaded Norton Anti Virus protection after the attack. The software downloaded properly; however, after I performed a system restart my wireless connection no longer works. My computer will also not shut down when prompted. I have contacted Norton and have since removed the software; however my wireless connection still does not work. Please help….any suggestions??
